tom-quayleTom was educated at Christ’s Hospital school, the only remaining charity school in the UK that selects children based on ability and potential, as opposed to parental income. Tom then attended The University of Birmingham where he studied History and French, as part of this he spent a year studying and working in France.

Tom’s joined Chemistry as a graduate in 2010, and having been hugely influenced by the ethos of his school, was compelled by the mission to create opportunities for “all” in the workplace. His first project was to deliver a sales transformation at Vodafone that resulted in a 14% revenue swing after just 12 months. Tom coordinated and ran assessments of the middle and upper management teams, and then created a Behavioral Change program from scratch to enable those leaders to focus on their key development areas that would drive the biggest revenue uplift. That Behavioural Change program he would then turn into a product that generated over £4m in revenue for Chemistry.

Tom has worked with global organizations including Experian, SAP, Vodafone, Nokia and Accenture, helping their executives and business leads to enable business transformation through re-thinking and re-engineering their approach to people selection and development. He has also led the development of the Chemistry Sport model for potential, currently being piloted at Reading
Football Club.
Since 2014, Tom led the Product teams at Chemistry, evolving Chemistry’s Intellect Property and building the infrastructure and processes that have enabled Chemistry to scale their solutions across 100+ countries and 15+ languages. Tom is now President of Chemistry Group Inc, Chemistry’s USA arm. He will build the team and the vision to establish Chemistry as a key player in the US assessment & consulting marketplace.

Session Descriptions:

The Prediction Problem (Tom Quayle)
Tom takes an irreverent, data-led look at hiring practices and assumptions on talent that are profoundly not true. He goes on to offer practical advice, using evidence from American Football, Football (English), the National Health Service and some of the worlds’ leading corporate brands, on how you can flood your organization, not with the “best” people but the “right” people for you.

Building Personas for Relational Recruiting  (Maren Hogan)
Artificial intelligence. Big Data. Sourcing Engines. Automated Sourcing. All of these things are fantastic, but is there something that can change your relationship with candidates? Yes, and it’s surprisingly old school. Maren Hogan will talk you through building your talent pipeline, focusing on candidate personas before every picking up the phone or typing an InMail, building out editorial content for your future employees and meeting them where they are. You’ll leave with email templates, an editorial calendar, and content funnel to fill up and a sample persona to get you started.
